A letter from Carl Nelson updating his friends on his new home on Cranberry island. This letter says " I have retired and moved from Boston to this island of unique design located just off the coast of Mt. Desert Island, Maine." He goes on about how tranquil and relaxing he finds the island and his deer neighbors. He ends the note with " In excellent health I am looking forward to retirement as a very exciting adventure." Collection of two 1903-1904 letters to Charles A. Gilley from a woman (Annie Keaney?) in Lawrence, MA, who wanted very much to come and visit Mr. Gilley or to work for him. They had apparently met at some point. She planned to send him her photo and thought that would be permissible since it was a leap year.

Charles Elliott Harwood who was the pastor of the Great Cranberry Island Congregational Church from 1894 to March 22, 1897. However, this is much later material pertaining to Church matters. Letters and a brochure between Howard Bacon and Estey Organ Corporation 1941, with notation "organ received Oct 2, 1941." Howard N. Bacon was a generous summer resident who arranged for the purchase of the church organ. Contributions made by Alice Stanley and Janine(?) Stanley.
