Frances A. dau of William P and Abigail C. Preble, who was born and reared on the same island. He commenced going to sea at the age of ten; took his first command at 21, sch. Maggie W. Willard.. In 1871 he moved to Portland and in 1888 to B.H. [Is this Boothbay Harbor?]. He holds a first-class pilot's license for the Atlantic Coast for steamers not exceeding 700 tons. He has built five vessels for E. Sanders & Col, Pensacola, Fla, and purchased and sold them several others. His principal sea-going has been in the mackerel fishery, and he has one high-line year to his credit. Their children are: Maud A., m. Forest Ware, Whitefield; Harold B. and Frances M. 7. Postcards.
